Synopsis:

The story is about a married couple – a successful writer, Giovanni Pontano, and his wife, Lidia. We see them on an afternoon visit to a dying friend in a hospital, at a party for Pontano’s newest novel, in a house of a wealthy industrialist and finally in their own nightly adventures - Lidia roams the streets of Rome, while her husband has an affair with the industrialist’s daughter…This film won the Golden Bear at the Berlin film festival.

The Eclipse

After a heated fight a young woman from Rome, Vittoria, breaks up with her lover, Riccardo. Afterwards, she meets a young and attractive Piero, a stock broker, and has an affair with him. But soon, she starts to question her feelings… This film won the jury award at Cannes film festival.

The Red Desert

Synopsis:

Giuliana is an unhappy young woman, suffering from depression. Even though her mood swings annoy everyone around her, they all pretend that everything is all right. But, it seems that only Corrado Zeller, a British engineer, really understands her. They have an affair… Antonioni’s first film in color, won the Golden Lion and FIPRESCI award at the Venice film festival.
