De la Cruz is a screenwriter, director and producer who began to work on film in mid-1990’s when he directed several short films. His most famous film is his debut animated film The Living Forest (El bosque animado, 2001), which he directed together with Manolo Gómez. They continued their collaboration on the film El sueño de una noche de San Juan (2005). He directed independently the comedy Los muertos van deprisa (2009), which is his last film to date. He was the co-screenwriter of the animated film Wrinkles (Arrugas, 2011) directed by Ignacio Ferreras. In addition, he published several novels and in 2014 he established his production house Ladybug Films S. L., which is currently producing the animated film Memorias de un hombre en pijama (2017), for which he has co-written the screenplay.

Synopsis:

Truck driver Irene has to drive to a fishing village in Galicia. Due to bad directions, she takes a wrong turn and her truck gets stuck by a big monument. A funeral parade for Filomeno’s deceased father is taking the same road. The only solution is to take apart the monument and move it but how can they do that when Filomeno’s father was its sculptor…
