Director

Between 1993 and 2003, Silveira has worked as a cinematographer on eleven films. He is also a producer and as a director he made his debut with the feature film Carlota Joaquina (1995). Then he directed the TV film Paralamas em Close Up (1998). His biggest commercial success was the feature film 2 Filhos de Francisco - A História De Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano (2005), and he alos directed the successful drama Once Upon a Time in Rio (Era Uma Vez..., 2008). After the somewhat weaker drama A Beira do Caminho (2012), he directed the biographical musical about Brazilian singers, father and son, Gonzaga: From Father to Son (Gonzaga: de prai pra filho, 2012), which won several Brazilian film awards and received international praise. Afterwards, he directed the TV series 1 Contra Todos (2016).
