He was born in Beirut in 1963. He worked as an assistant cinematographer on independent American productions (he has worked on all of Quentin Tarantino’s films) and in France. His feature film debut was West Beyrouth (1998). His other film is Lila dit ça (Lila Says, 2004)

Synopsis:

Civil war breaks out on April 14, 1975 in Beirut. Teenagers Tarek and Omar and a young Christian, May, who has recently moved to the city, live in west Beirut in the Muslim part. Christians mostly live in east Beirut. This geographical division causes rampage in the whole state.
