Alberto Durant

Director
Durant is a Peruvian director and screenwriter. In 1968, he received a scholarship for Rice University in Houston and graduated with a degree in economics after four years. In his final year at college he got interested in film and made two experimental films. In 1975, he enrolled in the International Film School in London and graduated after two years. He directed Ojos de perro (1982), documentary En la tierra de los Awuajunti (1984), drama Malabrigo (1986), crime drama Alias 'La Gringa' (1991) and drama Coraje (1998) about a peace activist Maria Elena Moyano. Somewhat more successful was his drama Con Game (Doble juego, 2004) and his last film is the short documentary Yuyanapaq. Para recordar (2005).

Synopsis:

An experienced Spanish crook arrives to Peru in order to pull off a sting. Pretending to be the chief of a telecom operator, he enters the lives of several people so he can get their money. Among is victims are a real estate agent who falls for the crook’s charm and carefully chosen words and a couple from Lima: Rafo, who hopes to become an actor, and his girlfriend Laura, a pianist earning money by selling clothes.
