Marco Ferreri

11.05.1928, Milano, Italy - 09.05.1997, Paris, France

Before he started working in film,
Ferreri had quit his studies and had worked as a sales agent. During the late
‘40s he worked with many neo-realist authors and in the ‘50s started writing
screenplays. He occasionally acted in supporting roles, as in  P.P. Pasolini’s
Pigsty. His directorial debut took place in 1958. He had always had
problems with censorship. Probably his most famous film The Blowout, a
story about a gastronomical suicide of four friends, is yet another variation of
the subject of the modern man’s alienation.
