Director

Hun Jang is a Korean director and screenwriter. He produced the film Come Tomorrow (Choihui mancheon, 2003) by the director Yeong-guk Son and during 2004 worked in the production departments of films by Kim Ki-duk. Over the next two years he was the assistant director to Ki-duk on his films The Bow (Hwal, 2005) and Time (Shi gan, 2006). He made his directing debut with the film Rough Cut (Yeong-hwa-neun yeong-hwa-da, 2008), based on Kim Ki-duk’s screenplay. Afterwards he directed the thriller Secret Reunion (Ui-hyeong-je, 2010) and war drama The Front Line (Go-ji-jeon, 2011).

Synopsis:

Lee Kang-pae is a successful local gangster who secretly dreams of becoming a film star. The situation with Soo-ta is almost the opposite. He is a temperamental actor who plays a gangster in his new film. He gets too carried away on the set and physically injures a colleague so the shooting stops. Feeling guilty, he offers a role to the real gangster, whom he accidentally meets, so the shooting can resume. Lee Kang-pae accepts the offer but insists that the fight scenes be real and not scripted....
