Director
He was born in 1965 in Dushanbe in Tajikistan. After graduating as a director from VGIK in Moscow, he made several short films and documentaries. In 1991, he made Bratan (Brother), his first feature film that was shown on many international festivals. His other films are Kosh ba Kosh (1993), Luna Papa (Moon Father, 1999) and Shik (The Suit, 2003).

Synopsis:

One night a stranger seduces the young Mamlakat Bekmaroudovo. Mamlakat becomes pregnant and the stranger disappears. Her proud father Safar wants to regain respect for his family.
