Achero Mańas

Director
Mańas is a Spanish director, screenwriter and actor. He directed his first short film Metro in 1994. Afterwards he made two more, Cazadores (1997) and Paraísos artificiales (1998). His first feature film El Bola (Pellet, 2000) has won many awards, among others the Goya for Best Film, Best Original Screenplay and Best Young Director. Two years later, he made the short film Miedo released and distributed online. Together with his brother Federico he wrote the screenplay for his second feature film Noviembre (November, 2003). Afterwards he made the documentary Blackwhite (2004).

Synopsis:

From a series of interviews with children, we find out that even today in big cities kids still hunt animals. José Luis Maya Fernández, with a nickname Tatus, stands out from other children because he strongly opposes this cruel sport. The reason is that she heard a cat’s cry when a friend’s dog devoured her.

Synopsis:

Pablo is a twelve-year-old boy who lives with his poor family in Madrid. He has no friends in school, his father beats him and his mother does nothing to defend him. His life begins to change when he meets Alfredo, the new boy in class. They become friends and Pablo meets his parents, José and Marisa.
