Director

Ivanišin is a director and screenwriter. In 200 he enrolled to the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana from which he graduated in 2007. Since then he has been directing and some of his films include the shorts Che Sara (2003), Humidity 81% (Vlažnost 81%, 2004), Quick View (2006), Hiša na Jurčkovi (2011), medium length Moje male ljubice (2006) and Šentilj - Spielfeld, mejni prehod, ki ga ni več (2009). His medium-length documentary Karpotrotter (Karpopotnik, 2013) is an hommage to the film director Karpo Godina.

Karpotrotter

Synopsis:

Road film about the flow of time and memory. During the 1970’s young Yugoslav cinematographer travelled with an 8mm camera through the valleys of Vojvodina and its sleepy rural areas. What we have left from those trips are only fragments. Forty years later, young Slovenian director Matjaž Ivanišin repeats the same trip as a sort of an hommage to the now famous and esteemed director Godina. He uses the rare original fragments and talks to the villagers who still remember the old dire...
