Ayelet Menahemi (Tel Aviv, 1963) is an Israeli director, editor and screenwriter. In 1985 she graduated from the Beit Zvi School for Theatre and Film Art. Since then she has worked as a director and editor and made many TV and musical videos, as well as short films and documentaries. In 1987, she made the medium length feature drama Orvim, followed by two full-length features Abba Ganuv III (1991) and Sipurei Tel-Aviv (1992). In 1992 she made the short film Get (1992). With Eilono Ariel whe co-directed the documentaries Doing Time, Doing Vipassana (1997) and Zmani (2001). In 2007, she directed and wrote the screenplay for her third feature film Noodle.

Synopsis:

Miri is a thirty-seven year old flight attendant and a two-time widow who has had two husbands die at war. One day she returns home to find her Chinese housekeeper’s son, left behind while his mother goes out to run an errand. When the housekeeper does not return or answer her phone, Miri suspects she has been deported. With her sister Gila and brother-in-law Izzy’s help, Miri tries to return the boy to his mother. Further complicating matters, the boy speaks only Chinese.
