Synopsis:

Synopsis:

This classic by Aleksandar Petrović is a story about the lives of Gypsies and their daily struggle for survival, their hopes, loves and freedom. Bora is a married man who falls in love with young Tisa, a girl already engaged to be married to a twelve year old boy. Tisa rejects the marriage because the boy cannot consummate the marriage and elopes with Bora. The couple flees to the mountains and finds a priest who marries them.

Synopsis:

The story takes place in a village in Srijem in 1960s. A local pub owner and a pig farmer have a fight over the village fool. She is actually a beautiful girl who the pig farmer defended when the pub owner humiliated her at a wedding. To get his revenge, the pub owner uses an opportunity when the pig farmer is drunk to dare him to marry the girl.
