Masahiro Shinoda

Director
Shinoda studied literature at the Waseda University and worked as assistant director in the film company Shochiku. He made his directing debut with Koi no katamichi kippu (One-Way Ticket for Love, 1960), and later he made Kawazita mizummi (Youth in Fury, 1960), Kawaita hana (Pale Flower, 1964), Utsukushisa to kanashimi to (With Beauty and Sorrow, 1965) that was already shown in Tuškanac, Shinjű: Ten no amijima (Double Suicide, 1969), Himiko (1974), Setouchi shonen yakyu dan (MacArthur's Children, 1984), Sharaku (1995) and Spy Sorge (2003).

Synopsis:

Gonza Sasano’s master offers him the hand of his daughter in marriage. Gonza cannot refuse his master and ends up engaged to his daughter even though he is already secretly engaged to another girl. Synopsis:

The story takes place in the beginning of the 17th century, during the fragile peace era.
