Igor Talankin

Igor Talankin (October 3, 1927, Noginsk, Russia) graduated as a theatre director from the theatre institute GITIS in Moscow. He made his directing debut together with G. N. Danelijom and the film Serjoža (Seryozha, 1960), which won many awards. Afterwards, he made the film Uvod (Vstuplenie, 1963) which won an award in Venice. His other notable films include Dnevne zvijezde (Dnevnye zvyozdy, 1966), Čajkovski (Chaivkovsky, 1969), Otac Sergej (Otyets Sergei, 1978), Zvejzdopad (Zvezdopad, 1981). He taught for some time at the VGIK school in Moscow.
