He took a degree in acting from the Theatre Academy in Belgrade, and in directing from the Academy for Theatre, Film and Television (today the Academy of Drama Arts) in Zagreb. He made his directing debut with one episode, Duga ulica, in the omnibus Ključ (1965, the two other directors were Krsto Papić and Antun Vrdoljak). His most famous work is the film Kužiš stari moj (1973), an adaptation of the novel with the same title by Zvonimir Majdak, about young urban people on the social margins. As an actor, he appeared in a few films in smaller roles (e.g. Da mi je biti morski pas, 1999, by Ognjen Sviličić) and, more often, in theatre. He is also the author of several theatre plays and radio and television dramas. He was the co-director (with Zoran Sudar) of the popular TV series Naši i vaši (2000).

Synopsis:

Glista, originally from the city’s outskirts, is a young stud who resells tickets in front of the movie theatres. These days, however, young people prefer disco clubs and Glista loses his job. He and his friend Kurbla slowly drift apart - Glista lives an unrealistic bohemian life, while Kurbla adapts to the times. Glista does not know what to do; he doesn’t want to collect scrap iron, like his dad, but he doesn’t really have much choice…

Synopsis:

Duga ulica - Boris and Vera live in the same neighborhood and meet one night when she loses a key. Boris invites Vera to spend the night in his apartment. Čekati - student couple Ivan and Sonja live with an old woman whose health is bad. They hope she will soon die so they can take over the apartment. Poslije predstave - after losing their keys, a married couple has to spend the night in a hotel.
