Director
Yamashita is a Japanese director and screenwriter. His first feature film Donten seikatsu (Hazy Life, 1999) was actually his graduation film from the Art Academy in Osaka. Afterwards he made No One's Ark (Baka no hakobune, 2003), Riarizumu no yado (Ramblers, 2004), drama Kurîmu remon (Cream Lemon, 2004), very popular music comedy Linda Linda Linda (2005) and Matsugane ransha jiken (The Matsugane Potshot Affair, 2006). His last film is Tennen kokekkô (2007).

Synopsis:

Two young men, Tsuboi and Kinoshita, arrive at a deserted train station outside of the city. They are amateur filmmakers about to meet with a real film star who is potentially interested in starring in their film. But, a few minutes before their scheduled meeting, they receive a message that the star will be late and possibly will not be able to meet them at all.

Synopsis:

The lives of eccentric inhabitants of a Japanese provincial town are stirred up after a discovery of a traffic accident victim. Someone hit Miyuki on an icy road, and police officer Kotaro has to find the culprit. At the morgue it becomes clear that the victim is actually still alive. Hikari, Kotaro's twin brother, was the one who hit her and now his accidental victim and her partner-criminal make his life a nightmare. The whole story contains gold bars and someone's head...
