Youn Je-kyun is a South Korean screenwriter, producer and director. He made his debut in 2001 with the action comedy Doosaboo ilchae (My Boss, My Hero, 2001). He also directed the teenage comedy Saekjeuk shigong (Sex is Zero, 2002), action comedy Nangman jagaek (2003) and the romantic comedy 1Beonga-ui gijeok (Miracle on 1st Street, 2007). The turning point in his career was the film Haeundae (Tidal Wave, 2009), which is considered to be the first South Korean film of catastrophe (tsunami). Hiswell-done historical drama Gukjesijang (Ode to My Father, 2014). Besides directing, he also writes screenplays and produces films by other directors.

Synopsis:

Through the personal history of the main character the film follows recent history of the Korean state during the last 60 years. As a boy, Yoon Duk-soo, his family and many other inhabitants of Hungham experience evacuation from the city during the Korean War in 1951.
