Synopsis:
The story takes place in a village in Srijem in 1960s. A local pub owner and a pig farmer have a fight over the village fool. She is actually a beautiful girl who the pig farmer defended when the pub owner humiliated her at a wedding. To get his revenge, the pub owner uses an opportunity when the pig farmer is drunk to dare him to marry the girl. So the pig farmer marries her - but soon after a teacher arrives with whom he falls in love.
The story is partly inspired by F. M. Dostoyevsky’s novel Demons, and the title was borrowed from a song performed by Gypsies a few times throughout the film: The world will come to an end soon, let it, it will be no shame.
