NEW YEAR'S EVE CELEBRATION

JUST LIKE YOU ARE IN A FILM

Tuškanac movie theater, Tuesday, December 31, 2013./ Wednesday, January 1, 2014

Two years ago and last year we celebrated New Year’s Eve in the Tuškanac movie theater with great films, music, good food and champagne. So at the end of this year we invite you to the same place to repeat it all in an even nicer atmosphere in our movie theater at the edge of the Tuškanac forest.

We will show two films: Bachelor Mother directed by Garson Kanin from 1939 and Jasmine French directed by Wood Allen from 2013. Bachelor Mother is a hilarious comedy of error that includes an identity switch, many funny misunderstandings and great roles by Ginger Rogers and David Niven as well as several great supporting actors. Most famous as Fred Astair’s dancing partner Rogers appears in this film without her dancing shoes and manages to create if not the best than certainly the funniest role in her career. Jasmine French is Streetcar Named Desire by Woody Allen and starring Cate Blanchett. Even though the main theme is serious, business fraud, love affairs, lies and a nervous breakdown the film is after all a typical Allen comedy packed with good music.

This year the celluloid feast will be accompanied with tasty Indian food (vegetarian pakora, raita, nan, samosa, vegetarian rice, chicken tikka…), and those who prefer traditional food will enjoy fine prosciutto and cheese followed by poppy cake, walnut cake and Christmas cookies. You will get all that in combination with fine wine or beer, special champagne and music in the entire movie theater for a moderate price.

Lovely musical duo Dora Benc and Mima Simić will take you to the New Year’s morning with the most beautiful music from your favorite films. Especially if your most favorite films happen to be Rocky, Robin Hood or Flashdance. Indeed, for one night Tuškanac will become a film time machine, your personal Titanic that cannot sink full of music and light, foggy car windows and eyes. Dora’s soprano and Mima’s guitar will melt all glaciers on the way to New Year’s (not to worry there is central heating at the film theater).

Arrival at Tuškanac is planned for 8 pm. At the entrance guests will receive an impressive dose of Indian snacks namkeen and a welcome drink of your choice. The first film starts at 9 pm.

The second film starts around 1 am.

The price of the ticket for Film Programmes’ members is 150 kuna, and for everybody else 200 kuna. They are sold at the movie theatre register in Tuškanac, Tuškanac 1 from Friday, December 16.
