Miguel Alcantud

Director
Alcantud is a Spanish director and screenwriter. He gained first experiences on film in 1999 and 2001 when he worked as assistant director to famous directors Álex de la Iglesia, Montxo Armendáriz and Bigas Luna. A year later, he made his directing debut with the thriller Impulses (Impulsos). Five years later he directed another thriller Anastezsi (2007) British and Spanih co-production and starring Derek Jacobi and Ángela Molina, but it was not very successful. From then on, he directed many TV series and in 2013, one more feature drama Black Diamonds (Diamantes negros, 2013).

Synopsis:

For the boys from poor parts of Africa, dreams of becoming famous soccer players and having a better life with a career in Europe, could easily turn to a nightmare. Sports agents lure the boys with nice stories but are only interested in their own profit. Meanwhile the boys have no guarantee that they will get a real chance competing with other candidates for the same soccer clubs. Two boys from Mali, Amadou and Moussa, are played by amateur actors Setigui Diallo and Hamidou Samaké.
