Gholam Ramezani

 

Director
Ramezani (Arak, 1960) is a director and screenwriter. He began his professional career in 1983 as an assistant director and screenwriter. Since 1984, he has made many short films. He is the director and screenwriter of feature films Oboor az tale (1993), children’s films Charkh (The Cart, 1999), Bazi (Play, 2004), Hayat (2005) and Sabz-e Koochak (Standing Alone, 2007) as well as the drama Ghofl-saz (The Locksmith, 2007).

Synopsis:

Hayat is a twelve-year-old girl living in the country with her parents and younger brother and sister. However, she is not a typical girl. She has plans and is determined to get proper education in order to fulfill them. A day before an important exam her father gets ill. Even though she must watch over her younger sister, she will do everything in her power to take the test at the same time.

The Cart

Synopsis:

Through a simple story, the film deals with the relationship between a father and a son and growing up. A rickshaw driver punishes his playful son by not allowing him to exit the cart. In spite of discomfort from the lack of space, the curious boy experiences the world around him in a unique way through a tiny hole in the cart.
