Gustavo Taretto

Director
Taretto is a director, screenwriter and producer. In the early 1980s, he attended workshops on photography, screenwriting and directing, and in 1993 he got a job in advertising. His career progressed over time, and in 1999 he enrolled in film school run by José Martinez Suarez. As part of his education he made short films Las insoladas (2002), Cien pesos (2003) and Medianeras (2005). Hoy no estoy (2007) brought him an award for Best International Short Film at the Locarno Film Festival. He made his first feature length film Medianeras (2011) based on the short film of the same title in 2005, starring the same leading actor.

Synopsis:

This film tells the story of searching for love and isolation in this modern age. In Buenos Aires, city with the population of three million, two young people spend their time confined by the walls of their apartments. Martin is an agoraphobic web designer who never leaves his apartment, unless it is really necessary.
