Born and raised in China. Graduated from Victorian College of the Arts in Australia. His 2015 short Under the Sun screened in Cannes Cinéfondation Competition. He directed A Gentle Night, which won Short Film Palme d’Or in Cannes. She Runs won Leica Cine Discovery Prize at Critics’ Week in Cannes. He is currently developing his first feature.
