Synopsis:
The film is Suzuki’s version of Georges Bizet’s Carmen, shot in black and white with some segments in color to highlight certain aspects of the story. Karumen is a young girl from the provinces who works in a factory. After two villagers rape her, she leaves for Osaka and gets a job as a singer in a night club.
