Synopsis:
The settings are two villages on Austria's border with Czechoslovakia in the winter of 1992. On the Czech side lives a poor Czech widow, on the Austrian side is Josef Paur, who hopes to find a wife in Czechoslovakia. A parade of brides for the elderly gentleman in the seclusion of the borderland, old age, and the state of Eastern economy after the fall of the Berlin wall are seen.
