Antonio Capuano

Capuano (born in 1940) is a theatre actor and set designer. He made his debut on the TV screen in the film Vito e gli altri (Vito and the Others, 1991). For that role he received the award of the international jury at the Venice Film Festival. He directed the film Pianese Nunzio, 14 anni a maggio (Pianese Nunzio, Fourteen in May), a story about a priest who fights against the Camora in Napoli and is in love with a boy, Nunzio. This film speaks about universal taboos and is one of the best contemporary Italian films. In 1997, together with Mario Martone and other directors from Napoli, he directed a few episodes for the film I vesuviani (The Vesuvians). In 1998, he made Polvere di Napoli together with Silvio Orlando.
