Mohsen Abdolvahab

 

Abdolvahab was born in Teheran in 1957. He graduated in film editing from the IRIB University in Teheran. Until today he directed mire than 23 short and documentary films. His film The Wives of Haj Abbas (Hamsaran-e haj-abbas, 2001) won the Silver Wolf at the International Film Festival of Documentaries in Amsterdam in 2001. He has 25 years of experience as a professional documentarist and feature film editor. He has been collaborating closely with Rakhshan Bani-Etemad for twenty years and their most famous directing and screenwriting collaborations are Gilane (2005) and Mainline (Khoon bazi, 2006).

Synopsis:

Sara is all but a typical Iranian bride. Before her future husband arrives from Toronto, she has to get rid of her heroine addiction. Already at the beginning of the breaking of her drug habit she gets a panic attack and destroys her wedding gown in the middle of the street and soon gets caught by the police during a raid. Her mother loses patience and takes her to a rehab clinic.
