Yoshimitsu Morita

Morita is a Japanese director and screenwriter. After graduating from Nihon University he made several independent films. In 1981 he made his feature film debut with No yohna mono and afterwards made roman-porno films (a category of Japanese erotic films made in 1970s). He gained significant attention with the film Kazoku gęmu (Family Game, 1983) and later also directed Sorekara (And Then, 1985), Haru (1996), romantic drama Shitsurakuen (Paradise Lost, 1997), a horror Kuroi ie (The Black House, 1999), the thrillers 39 keihô dai sanjűkyű jô (Keiho, 1999) and Mohou-han (Copycat Killer, 2002), Ashura no gotoku (Like Asura, 2003) that brought him the award from the Japanese academy in 2004 and his last film, love drama Umineko (2004).
