Sérgio Rezende

Rezende (born in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, 1951) is a Brazilian screenwriter and director. He made his feature film debut with the drama O Sonho Năo Acabou (1982), and afterwards made the crime biography O Homem da Capa Preta (1986), thriller Doida Demais (1989), historical Lamarca (1994), war drama Guerra de Canudos (1997), historical biography Mauá - O Imperador e o Rei (1999), drama Quase Nada (2000), comedy Onde Anda Vocę (2004) and the last film Zuzu Angel (2006).

Synopsis:

This is the biography of the Brazilian national hero from the 19th century Irineo Evangelista de Souza, known as Baron of Mauá. He was a revolutionary Brazilian entrepreneur, visionary, liberal and fighter against slavery who in spite of his origin from a poor family became one of the richest men in Latin America.
