Virzi is an Italian screenwriter and director. He studied philosophy and languages at the University in Pisa.
He made his directing debut with the award winning Living it up (La bella vita, 1994), for which he also wrote the screenplay. His other films are Ferie d'agosto (1996), Hardboiled Egg (Ovosodo, 1997), Kisses and Hugs (Baci e abbracci, 1999), My name is Tanino (2002) and Caterina in the Big City (Caterina va in citta, 2003).
