The story takes place in the 10th century, when Ahmed Ibn Fahldan (Banderas), a respectable Arabian scholar, falls from the caliph of Baghdad’s favor. On one of his trips, he runs into a group of wandering Northerners led by Herger. By a combination of circumstances, Ahmed is forced to join them. Namely the mysterious enemy, the Wendols, threaten king Hrothgar’s land. A prophecy says that the Wendols will ultimately be destroyed by the thirteenth warrior -- who is not a northerner… The director of this film is the famous John McTiernan.
