Synopsis:
Ewa is a young artist disappointed with her marriage to an older man. After her husband’s death she meets an attractive architect, Adam, and they immediately get together. After an evening out, Ewa hopelessly waits for her lover to call her, however he is too busy spending time with his friend Barbara. An incidental meeting in the street gives them an opportunity to take their relationship to a higher level. Ewa meets Adam’s colleagues and gets involved in his professional and personal affairs. Love develops between them. Ewa becomes more obsessive and jealous. She makes a scene at the reception following the architectural contest and Adams breaks up with her. Ewa refuses to accept the break-up and keeps calling him and coming to his door, but Adam does not want to start over. Eventually she gives up trying to win him back. She focuses on her work and start seeing Andrzej, a student who is madly in love with her. Ewa, however, cannot forget Adam. One day Adam pays her a surprise visit. He comes to talk about his misfortunes. He lost a friend in a car accident, and he, himself, was badly injured. After that he wished for Ewa again. They start seeing each other again, but the tables have turned – Adam is now jealous and obsessive. He asks of Ewa to account for her every move. They argue constantly. However, after some time, the situation calms down and Ewa and Adam decide to get married.
