Synopsis:

"Several years earlier, I dreamt of composing the consecutive phases of the gestures of the immortal French actor Frédérick Lemaître from the hundred and one poses on the hundred and one pages of the adventures of Robert Macaire.  [...] the inimitable nature of his performance was imprinted on the hundred and one lithographs of Honoré Daumier – the series Caricaturana (Les Robert Macaire)" This quote from the great maestro S.M. Eisenstein provoked the making of this short essay-film which has three parts: First, a montage of the gestures of Daumier's character, as Eisenstein envisaged. Then, for some of them we added the original texts the caricatures had. In the last part, we took the liberty to use the caricatures as a commentary for actual news.
