Synopsis:
The story takes place in the summer of 1949 in a small town in north California. The main character is Ed Crane, a local barber. He is unhappy with his life, and uses his wife Doris’s infidelity as an opportunity for blackmail, hoping to improve his situation. However, nothing goes according to plan… This film won many awards, such as Palme d’Or in Cannes for the best director. It was nominated for an Oscar in the category of the best cinematographer.
