Synopsis:
A young couple on a honeymoon meet Doctor Vitus Werdegast on a train in Hungary. After having spent the last fifteen years as a war prisoner, he is visiting his friend. The doctor and the couple share a taxi ride but a traffic accident happens near the home of Vitus’ friend, architect Hjalmar Poelzig.
This is the first film in which Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi appeared together.
