Synopsis:
“Thou Shalt Not Kill!” A young and seemingly psychotic drifter brutally kills a taxi driver without any apparent reason. Soon afterwards he gets arrested and is brought to court. Young Piotr is his defender and in spite of all his efforts, the murderer is sentenced to death. This episode of Decalogue questions the (un)justification of an (il)legal murder. Later Kieślowski turned this episode into a feature film under the title Kratki film o ubijanju (Krótki film o zabijaniu, 1988).
