Homeless Alex and his older friend Hans live next to the famous Parisian bridge Pont-Neuf. Alex is addicted to alcohol and prescription drugs, and makes a living as a street performer. One day he meets Michèle near the bridge, a young artist who has taken his usual place. Although at first he fights with her, they soon become friends.
