This film is based on true events in the lives of young women who worked as the Magdalene Sisters’ washers in the middle of 20th century. Their “sins” are different: provocative behavior, giving birth to illegitimate children, or the fact that they were victims of rape. They were all sent to Magdalene sisters’ convent, where they were systematically abused.
