Synopsis:
After the death of professor Lewicki, his wife Stefania accidentally discovers that he had a studio apartment where he led a ‘parallel life’ hidden from his siblings. The widow finds his diary in which he wrote down detailed accounts of his intimate relations with women. The wife decides to follow the trail of the loving man for whom she believed had loved her too. She spoke to Lena, a friend from her youth, with whom her husband had cheated several days after the wedding. She found addresses of other women connected to her husband – a dentist he met on a vacation, former student Danuta, and secretary Teresa. All of them have families and settled lives and fear meeting the old lady. Her son and daughter in law also refuse to help her. The widow finally realizes that it is impossible to find out the truth about her husband. She even opens her apartment to a young student, Urszula, who regrets not having gotten to know the professor better. Besides, he kept her photograph in his studio…
