Synopsis:
Based on a true story, the film tells a story about thirteen women, supporters of the Republic, who live in Madrid in 1939 just before the end of the Civil war. General Franco is approaching the city with his troops and many Republicans are trying to escape. Upon General Franco’s victory, there are rumors that there might be an attempted assassination on the occasion of his entrance into the city. Hungry for revenge, the nationalists arrest thirteen women for leftist activities even though they had nothing to do with the assassination attempt.
This film won many prestigious Spanish film awards.
