Synopsis:
The story takes place in 1766, when the inhabitants of Gevaudan are frightened by unusual events. Their hilly land is often wrapped in fog and at late hours, desperate cries that chill the blood fill the air. A beast is on the loose! It kills women and children, tearing them up. Local men organize many searches, but the beast always gets away. The king sends his trustworthy emissary, Gregoire de Fronsac, a famous and esteemed scientist… This film is based on real events that took place at the time of King Louis XV, and depicts the French myth about the beast of Gevaudan.
