Retrospective of the Sarajevo School of Documentary Film - program I
In the 1960’s and 1970’s, production house Sutjeska film from Sarajevo produced many excellent short documentary films that achieved great success at international festivals, especially in Oberhausen. The production house, that does not exist anymore, managed to produce films that were more subtle than those of the, at the time prevailing, black wave, but they were not any less socially critical, ironical or darkly humorous. Films by authors such as Vlatko Filipović, Vefik Hadžismajlović and Petar Ljubojev were pulled out of oblivion by the curators Gaby Babić and Carsten Spicher. They organized screenings all over Europe and now we finally get the opportunity to see these films in Zagreb. The guest of the program is one of the most important directors of the school - Vlatko Filipović.
Host of the program is Ivan Ramljak.
