Mariano Cohn (Buenos Aires, Argentina, December 1, 1975) & Gastón Duprat (Buenos Aires, Argentina, December 8, 1969)



Directors, screenwriters, producers and directors of photography from Argentina. They met in 1993 at the experimental video festival in Buenos Aires where Gastón was a member of the jury, and Mariano was a participant. They started exchanging ideas then, and later on started the cooperation which lasts to this day. They made numerous experimental films and videos such as Cámara de sombra (1990), Circuito (1993), Venimos llenos de Tierra (1996), Hectárea (1998), Soy Francisco López (2000), 20/12 (2001) and Hágalo usted mismo (2002). In 1999, they made and produced the TV show Televisión Abierta and later many others. Together with Adrián De Roso they wrote and directed the documentary Enciclopedia (2000). On their own they directed the following documentary TV service (2006), and then wrote and directed their first feature film Yo Presidente (2006). After that they also worked together on El artista (The Artist, 2008), followed by the black humorous drama The Man Next Door (El hombre de al lado, 2009) which in 2010 won the Argentinean Film Academy award for best film, director, original screenplay and actor. Currently their last film is the comedy Querida voy a comprar cigarrillos y vuelvo (2011).

Synopsis:

The film was made in La Plata, Argentina, in the house Curutchet, which is the only residential house designed by the famous architect Le Corbusier in South America.
