Born in 1965, he began his career on the stage as assistant director and lightning technician. In Hamburg, Germany, he ran a group of artist, Keine Einigung, from 1985 till 1988, and started working on short film (he shot some twenty short films in that period). In 1988 he came back to Vienna where he formed a group of artists called Pension Export with which he completed several film projects under the title Expanded Cinema. He also does scriptwriting and stage direction.
