Toyoshima is a Japanese director, screenwriter and producer of video games. He wrote several screenplays for films by other directors. He made his directing debut with TV series. After directing segments of omnibuses (mostly horrors and thrillers) together with several other directors, he made his feature-length debut with the sports drama Softball Boys (Sofutoboi, 2010). Since his debut or his second film, comedy Saibanchou! Koko wa choueki 4-nen de dousuka (2010), were not very successful, he continued to direct TV series. After the romantic drama A Courtesan with Flowered Skin (Hanayoi dôchû, 2014) he returned to feature-length films and directed the drama Sea's Lid (Umi no futa, 2015), action comedy Maniac Hero (Hero Mania: Seikatsu, 2016) and sgments in two omnibuses.  He is currently finishing his comedy Moriyamachu Driving School (Moriyama chû kyôshûjo, 2016).
