Mari decides to leave Kyoto where she works as a set designer and returns to her hometown on the coast. She dreams of opening a shop where she will sell her favorite sweets from childhood: ice cubes made of syrup called kakigōri. A teenager Hajime helps her with the preparation of ingredients and with the decoration of the shop before the grand opening.
