Synopsis:

Jean Gabin plays the police commissioner Jossa who is about to retire. After hearing about the murder of his childhood friend, he starts his own investigation in order to find and punish the killers. He comes in contact with Nathalie, the girl his friend had been in love with, and slowly plans his revenge. As a member of the police, he knows how one can get away with murder and his experience and knowledge enables him to get his revenge without involving legal and police forces.
