Synopsis:
Thomas, a young and talented German baker, is having an affair with Oren, an Israeli married man who dies in a car crash. Thomas travels to Jerusalem seeking answers. Keeping his secret for himself, he starts working for Anat, his lover’s widow, who owns a small café. Although not fully kosher and despised by the religious, his delicious cakes turn the place into a city attraction.

Synopsis:
1973. Six years after returning from the Six Day War with a battle shock, Menashe realizes he will never be the man he used to be before the war. Then a young, charismatic, zealous rabbi comes into their lives and he promises that all their problems will be solved.

An Israeli Love Story is based on the true story of the love affair between Pnina Gary, from kibbutz Nahalal, and Eli Ben-Zvi, son of the second president of the State of Israel. The film is set during the turbulent period of pre-state Israel. Margalit meets Eli on a bus and falls in love with him instantly. She tries to get close to him but he’s too busy with the Palmach. Finally, Margalit moves in with Eli, they set a date for their wedding, but Israel’s harsh reality intervenes.
