Honour of the Knights

(Honor de cavallería, 2006.)

Directed by: Albert Serra
PHOTOGRAPHY: Christophe Farnarier, Eduard Grau
Synopsis:

This film adaptation of Don Quixote was made in a minimalist style with natural lighting and long shots. It depicts Don Quixote and his faithful servant Sancho Panza’s travels, but it is bereft of the usual romantic idea of a likable hero led by ideals. Instead of an eccentric dreamer on an adventure, Serra portrays Don Quixote as an antihero closer to one of Beckett’s protagonists.
