Guillaume Canet was born on April 10, 1973 in Boulogne Billancourtu (France).
He studied acting at the famous Cours Florenteu in Paris. Afterwards,
together with a few friends, he founded his theatre company. People from
television soon noticed him and his career began to develop. He made his first
film appearance in the film Barracuda (directed by Philippe Haďm, 1977).
Until present day he acted in more than thirty films, among which La Fidélité
(directed by Andrzej Zulawski 2000), The Beach (directed by Danny Boyle,
2000) and Les Morsures de l’Aube(directed by Antoine de Caunes, 2001) are the most famous. Before making his feature film debut with Mon idole (2002), he directed several short films.
